My eldest child has been severely bullied for around a year now, her school don't seem to take their responsibilities to safeguard my child seriously. She has endured nine months of counselling because of these problems.I have complained to the head teacher at her school, the governors and her class teacher about there lack of concern towards my child's safety.Initially she was physically bullied now it's become psychological. She is a bright girl, above the expected standard for her age group. This has made me increasingly ponder the question as to weather i should home school, she is severely unhappy and i would have to take her five miles to the next nearest school. This would be difficult as I am unable to drive; public transport would also be inadequate as we live quite rurally and the service is quite unreliable.
I am not a qualified teacher but have worked within a secondary school for two years. She has many friends and is a very social person. She has many interests too which allow her to socialize with people of her own age group. The extent of her psychological deterioration is becoming increasingly concerning. It has gone way beyond name calling and teasing, last year she came home and was covered in bruises all over her arms and legs.
