Should I have to pay a lawyer for paper work he never got right and had to end up...

...going to another lawyer? Two years ago I was going through a divorce and I went to a lawyer to start the paper work, after meeting with him several times he never could get the basic things right like who got what vehicles and stuff of that sort that I had told him repeated times. After losing my patiene I told him to cancel the work that I was going to another lawyer. Now two years latter he is sueing me for 6 hours of work he couldn't get right that I had to go to somebody else to get done.
 
You should never pay anyone who didn't do the job right, its just like paying them to do nothing. You hired them to do this and they have to do so.
 
YOU DIDNT SAY HOW MUCH HE WAS SUING YOU FOR ???

IF IT IS UNDER AN AMOUNT .......( EACH STATE IS DIFFERENT) YOU ARE LOOKING AT SMALL CLAIMS COURT.......

IT IS INTERESTING THAT HE CHOSE TWO YEARS TO FILE A CLAIM.........I WONDER ABOUT THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS ON THIS CLAIM.........

I WOULD SHOW IN COURT THAT THIS GUY COULDNT SHARPEN A PENCIL RIGHT WHEN IT CAME TO YOUR CLAIM......AND SHOW THE JUDGE WHY..............

I THINK JUDGES IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT ARE USUALLY FAIR..............
 
No, you "should" not in the moral sense of the word, but you may legally have to depending on how your retainer agreement was worded. You're bound by the terms of your contract.
