should i have talked back to them?

i went to the fraternity party. i don't know the people there but one of them invited me so i thought why not. when i was there, they were all surprised that i'm a non US who's joining a fraternity this quick ( been here for 3 weeks only). anyway, 80% of them r asian americans and i'm arab. it was kinda obvious that some did not like me around but others did. later at the party, i so drunk and high too. my face was all yellow and i was hardly walking. a group of five asians came to me and threatened me to beat me. no certain reason but it was obvious that they wanna use the chance since i can't control myself now.however, i didn't talk back, i looked back at them then left the place. none of them said anything or tried to chase me. i don't know them and they don't know me. however, i feel so disappointed now that i didn't say anything back. althought i know if i did i would have gotten myself kicked. but still, i feel like what i did was wrong, was it?
