Should I have sex before marriage?

I feel that I am fully ready to have sex with my boyfriend I have been dating for 6 months. I am 16 and he is 17 and I believe I am totally ready. I will be protected with both the pill and a condom. I understand the consequences such as disease and having a child and I am willing to except anything that happens. But is it really better to wait till your married? Why does everyone tell us young teens to wait?
 
Im 20 and im waiting for marraige. Its hard as shyte. Especially when your an college athlete and girls just flock. But im hanging in there. You better!
