Should I have my own car?

I'm 18 I've had my license for 2 years now. I've driven up and down roads and highway before. I'm just now able to get a job and save up for a car. But my parents won't let driven their car alone. They say "When you get your own car, you do/go where you want. But until then you can' t drive ours!" But yet when I do get my own car they're gonna want to drive it. (And get mad if I oppose.) And when their car's out of gas, they'll want to drive mine.(And again, get mad when I oppose.) Because they never leave my things alone, even if I'm the one who bought them. But overall, I feel like I should have had a car by now. Am I right? What is a good age to receive a car besides 16?
