Hello
In January, I suffered a severe trapped nerve (sciatica), with all the usual symptoms, and had an MRI scan in June, which showed a bulging disc and quite hypertrophic facet joints. (Lower back, only one joint). The consultant advocated disectomy and decompression.
I am 55, female, and relatively healthy otherwise.
But my question is this - things have improved so should I go ahead with surgery? The logical part of me says yes, as it hasn't actually gone away as it can't, and it could happen again anytime, and 10 months waiting for the inflamation/trapping to go away is a lot, but the chicken part says no! Thoughts would be gratefully received.
