should I have a spinal check up?

I don't have any major issues to complain about-call me paranoid I guess. In 2004 I had a 2 level lurabar fusion (L4-S1) and consider it a success. During treatment before the surgery we found small bulges at C5-7. I do probably more than I EVER should with no injuries. My muscles however are very stressed-they are knotted and tight ALL THE TIME. I have had ESI, Botox, lidoderm patches, heating paRAB. I wish I could do scheduled massages, accupuncture and manipulation-I feel that would help me SO much, but I don't have the moolah. Anyway, off the subject a little-I wonder if I should have a checkup. Xray of my entire spine-I am paranoid since I was told I would probably have to have another surgery at one point or another (not per a doc)

I would love to try spinal manipulation under anesthesia :D The last time I had an adjustment-my muscles hurt so badly that I had to take a narc and these days I ONLY use ultram.
(i don't know if this should be on the PM board-but I would like feedback from back folk)

I can't imagine anyone here arguing with getting checked up when our spines are in question. Better to know than to worry, right?
Good luck and I pray you get good answers!

If it would give you peace of mind, by all means, make an appt. But it sounRAB like you're doing well, just maybe too stressed and maybe doing a bit too much. Maybe you need to cut back a little, soak in a warm tub, get a hand-held massager you could use on your back muscles, or find other ways to relax and get the stress out of those knotted muscles.

What you don't want to do is be labeled a paranoid by your doc, so just be careful what you say if you make an appt. Maybe you could ask for a general check up just to make sure everything's still the same. Or tell him you just want to make sure your knotted muscles aren't an indication of something more serious. You want to be taken seriously if and when you do start having more serious problems again.

Just my two cents worth...

Emily

thank ya :)
I know I do way too much-I have a shiatsu chair that will cause bruising on my back i push into it so bad, then the tub soaks I take every night-and the heating paRAB I LIVE on--
I really don't know where to turn from here-I just gotta get stuff figured out. I wish I could afford to do a few things but unable :(
