Should I have a full automatic transaxle fluid flush done to my car?

I own a 2003 Ford Taurus, its about to hit 60000 miles. The owners manual calls for a automatic transaxle fluid, and filter change. I called the dealer to get a quote on how much would it cost. They recommended having a transaxle fluid flush done. This would cost about twice as a regular fluid and filter change. The manual is not specific about weather it should be flushed or not.
