Should I go to eighth grade graduation dance?

Believe me! Through the time warp, I was in exactly your situation years ago. Since your parents will make you, and if you defy them, then you still will most likely have a miserable night and be in their bad graces, I would recommend sucking it up, putting up with it and going. Try to let loose and enjoy anything about it that you can: some of the music or dancing, maybe, the punch, if it strikes your fancy, a single also-miserable attendee that you can bond with, laughing at the uncomfortableness of the chaperones, anything! It might seem like time is going backwards that night, but eventually, it will be over. And, there is the slightest of chances that you could actually have a better time than you expect. I know - not likely, right? But remember, you won't be the only one who was forced to attend, and misery LOVES company! (Just try not to hide out in the bathroom all night, that's a definite long night and downer.) Best advice: act like your five years old and party your silly bum off! Like John Wayne said, "Don't let the b******* get you down!"

My formal eighth grade farewell formal is coming up and I really do not want to go! Ugh I just hate everyone in my grade and don't wana spend anymore time with them and the only reason I'd go is just because everyone is going and I'd be weird if I just didn't go and my parents will make me. I'm also going to have to buy a dress and get dressed up for something i don't even want to go to. What should I do to make it through the night without feeling terribly akward and lonley? ):

go to the dance its your last dance before you go to high school and you wont be able to do the 8th grade dance again and mabye people in your grade will hang out with you
