Should I go for a culinary degree or go for science instead?

I love to cook but strangely I do not care to eat the product. I love putting the ingredients for a german chocolate cake together and seeing it go from batter to a cake. I even love to watch it rise. But I get bored with the cake and it ends up getting stale. Am I interested in cooking because of cooking or is it more of the science of cooking?
