Should i go backpacking next year?

As long as you have the financial security, maturity, and ambition to do so - I recommend doing it. You should be rewarded for working hard thus far. Why not take the opportunity to see what the world has to offer? You'll discover things about the world (...and more importantly about your self) that you never would have fathomed. So i'm currently 16 yrs old and i will be graduating next year but i want to take a year off before college. My b day is in january but i want to leave during the summer to start my travels but i will only be 17 yrs old ... Does it make sense to take the year off or not... P.s i skipped a grade so im younger than the rest of my class
I really dont have the money right now but i'm planning to start saving soon... About how much money do i need?
