Should I get the htc thunderbolt or the motorola droid bionic?

I want a powerful smartphone that will not get laggy with software updates. I had an original motorola droid and the updates made the phone sloooowwwwwww. I need the phone impart me 2 years without getting too out of date. Thanks for your help.
