Should i get the HTC droid eris or the samsung rogue?

I'm on verizon. I use texting a lot but i think i can deal with the touch screen on the Eris but do you need a data plan for the droid eris and if so is it required?? I had a 1 year contract on the phone i have right now which is the ENV2 by LG and its about time to get a new phone so please help me out on picking for the HTC Droid Eris of the Samsung Rogue?? Thank You
 
I have the same exact problem you have and im getting the htc droid eris because it just seems nicer to me and also if u want to get on the internet with the rogue u hav to pay for the memory and stuff but when u have the droid i think you just pay 30$ for internet. But when I was playing with the droid in the store it was kind of slow...
