for cheaper? I asked this question yesterday, but wouldn't mind a few more answers...
On the way back from a trip back in October, my Suzuki XL7 started smoking. I took it to a shop and I was told I have an oil leak at the timing chain cover or seal or gasket, or something like that (Forgive me, I have 0 car knowledge) I was given an estimate of $1200 - $800 for labor, $400 for parts.
One of my mom's friends, who is does auto repair on the side looked at it and gave an estimate of $550.
(I'm having one more mechanic give me an estimate as well)
Soo, the question is...do you prefer to have a professional place fix your car, or if you can save money, do you go with that?
