Should I get Gears of War 1 or 2?

I was wondering if i shoudl get Gears of war 1 or Gears of War 2? I never played GOW b4. Is GOW 1 necessary to GOW2, does people still play GOW1, Which has better gamplay? So yeah....thanks
 
I would definitely get Gears of War 2.

Don't get me wrong both are very good games,but the second is just better in almost every aspect.

From Gameplay,Replay Value,and overall feel,it really is the better game.

But truthfully,if you want a ridiculously good game,get Metal Gear Solid 4,that is by far the best game ever made period.

Get Gears 1, because it is much better. Seriously in Gears 2 everything is made so easy for you and there's so much stuff in 2 that is just there and it makes everyone mad, the only thing better about Gears 2 is there are more executions, but I really do miss the original curbstomp from Gears 1, so yeah get the first one, it's better.
 
Definitely get Gears of War 2. It is way better in my opinion. Also, you should read the story line of 1 to know what it's ab out. And 2 has better game play.
 
You should get the second one: more weapons, more characters, more enemies, better single player (although the first two acts of the first game are classic), better online (arguable), cool horde mode, etc.. The story is nearly nonexistent. Just go to wikipedia if you really care. Major gripe: shotgun is slightly underpowered from its god-like status in the first game.
 
Gears 2 has better gameplay. The problem is... I was really good at gears 1 but then gears two came out and i wasnt that great because the gameplay is different. i know a lot of people that still play gears 1 but i recommend gears 2. Read the storyline for gears 1 online and then get gears 2. IM not sure that they are the same storyline but I think they are
