Should I get an iPod Touch or wait to see if Verizon comes out with an iPhone?

i really want to use the money i get for my birthday (next month) to buy an ipod touch. i have an ipod video now but i really want an itouch i like the idea of the internet and games and apps and touch screen and everything. but there are rumors that at the wwdc apple convention thing next month there will be an announcement about an iphone coming to verizon? if it is not announced, do you think i should go ahead and buy an ipod touch or wait out the summer and see if an iphone for verizon comes out in september? i really want to have either iphone or ipod touch for the summer and i dont want to wait :P thanks! i have a verizon enV2 now, contract up next jan.
