Should i get an iPhone?

im looking at phones, pretty quick ill have some cashflow to get one im 16 and i want an iphone but i see all these cool looking htc phones and ive never used one so i dont know if id be better off with an iphone cause they have all kinds of games and apps or a htc or soemthing similar?
if not iphone what phone in specific would you recomend
