should i get an aveo with manual transmission ?

i'm considering buy an aveo as my next vehicle , probably around an 04 , im 17 and do alot of city driving so im considering manual transmission for better fuel economy , if you have an aveo and have comments or critisim your input would be appreciated as well as your input on whether driving manual is worth the effort. thanks
