Should I get an android or I phone?

I'm thinking about getting either an HTC EVO or I phone, but can't decide which one would be best. What are some of the pros and cons of each??

evo. this is an android forum, so that's pretty much expected. the evo has the iphone beat in every hardware spec except screen resolution and battery life (i think there's one other thing). but android, in my opinion, is much better than ios.

this discussion is very broad. ios vs. android. sprint vs. att. i've give both of the phones a test drive if you haven't used either os, and figure out how the coverage is for both carriers. i still say evo though. the android community (ac forums!) are really great.

I hope that's sarcasm. To say one phone is better "hands down" is just biased bs. I think ios is very solid and smooth but at the same time how long has ios been out compared to android and android is already giving it a run for the money. However I personally almost see the iphone as more of a trendy device. I love android for the customization factors. Id go with the evo but that's just me. I want something more "me" than a status symbol.

This is an android forum....the obvious answer you'll get here is ANDROID. Turn that question around in an iphone forum and you'll get the same....IPHONE....
Both are great and you can't go wrong either way, but keep this in mind...there is only one iphone device, but there are already many Android devices and it will continue to grow.

Go with the top dogs at the moment, Evo, Droid X or the Galaxy S. You won't be disappointed!

It comes down to your needs. Ask your self what do you want in a phone? Make a list of all the android phones you want then make a second list with the pros and cons. The android community does not bash the iPhone like they bash everything that is not an iphone. We can actually say something nice about outher phones, and we do help each other out. So not only do you get great phones but you become part of the community as well. Maybe buy an android phone off contract and try it for awhile.

I do believe, in a very narrow way, iPhone is "better"... however, as spacecasespiff is suggesting: "Better how?" My son is on at&t w/iPhone and is not happy with the service. I have an "old" G1 and am very satisfied with the service TMo provides. A close friend has an iPhone and it's unlocked so he can use it on TMo and would never use at&t. Then there's the question of the iPhone's reception. My son (and his GF) both have reception problems with their iPhones sometimes even in major metropolitan areas. For me these two, related, issues more than off-set any advantage the iPhone may have. The last time we were in Europe I meant to do a side by side roaming comparison. Next time.

Also, have a look at this: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/12/consumer-reports-says-iphone-4-has-design-flaw/?src=me&ref=general
