My license was suspended for driving 80 on the interstate and it was in a 55 mph zone, which I didnt pay any attention to the speed limit because I was going with the traffic flow and no one ever drives 55 on the interstate unless its high traffic volume or worker's site anyway. I paid the fines and the lady over the phone told me that I did not need to show up to court. Now a month later my license were suspended and I called about a worker's permit and the state of GA told me I could not get one at all. So I live in Atlanta, GA attending college in my 3rd year and have no way of going home to see my doctor's and take care of business. My apartment is not equipped with a washer and dryer that I live on campus so I drove on campus to my friend apartment to wash my clothes and the police stopped me and put me in jail and now I have a court date on jan 12th. What should I do as far as getting a lawyer because I never had one before so I dont know about it and I dont know my options. I need my license because I'm starting nursing school and will be going to different hospitals and clinics to do my clinicals. *This is a serious question so please dont come in here getting smart or just trying to get 2 pts only for those that can offer advice and experience in this subject matter*
