i have 2 horizontal impacted wisdom tooth located on my lower jaw and both lies on the nerves. i went to a specialist and he told me to remove the one that's closer to the nerves but by doing the surgery i would be in a high risk of parathesis (numbness in the lips, tongue, mouth) and might be permenant. i was told to take them out because it has already began to eroded my teeth. so i took one out and fortunately i did not get parathesis but was swollen for 2 weeks and was in immense pain.
a month or so after my recovery i went to another specialist to have my other wisdom tooth extracted, but oddly she recommended that i NOT take it out cause it's lying on the nerves also explaining to me the high risk of getting parathesis. she told me that the wisdom tooth looks fine and since it's not causing any pain there's no need to take it out. she even said if i insist on getting the extraction she would not perform the surgery and told me to find someone else. this happened like a year ago. recently a friend who also has her wisdom teeth had gotten an infection and i'm beginning to worry. so i did research on hortizonal impacted wisdom teeth online and found that if it's not removed it may cause grave problems in the future.
so my question is even though there's no problems now i should still get the tooth removed knowing that the it's lying on a nerve and my risk of getting parathesis is high?
thanks!
