Should I get a headset with a mic?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 and the built in mic is really bad (when I talk to my friends on Skype I sound like Minnie Mouse >.<) so should I get a headset with a mic, and if so what kind should I get (something inexpensive if possible -_-) ?
