so i am considering a 2001 ford escape as my 1st car...not 100% sure yet.
my parents and i have come to a conclusion to spend around $4,500 ($5,000 being the max)
i have looked around and the 2001 ford escape seems to be around 5,000.
i like SUV type cars since i am about 6'4 and i overall enjoy larger cars.
any feedback on this car? goods and bads? i heard it should get around 18-20 mpg, is that true?

also, if you think buying this car would be a terrible choice, what are other cars that i can buy used that fall into my financial category (3,000 - 5,000) perferbly SUV's, but i dont mind feedback on other cars.
