Should I get a 1988 Honda Civic Dx - 5 speed?

I have been doing a lot of research on a 1988 Honda Civic Dx 5 speed. And I think i might be getting one. Does anyone know the specs on it? from the cars weight to the engine type? anything will help. Also does anyone recommend it? Please Comment/Answer. THANKS!

good car, efficient.
get a newer model if possible with a bit more miles.
try to get one with a timing chain as opposed to belt
inspect car thru in and out and test drive.
be sure to check the exhaust pipe for irregular exhaust smoke.
google and research on buying used car
 
is it a hatchback or is it a sedan??....well anyways...if its just for a beater commuter then its fine...if you plan on racing it...then its fine too...just needs an engine upgrade....but if your going for looks...its best to get a 92+ model....or look into a crx...
