Should I fix Kenmore washer or buy a new one?

Hi, I have a 110-28912790 kenmore that had an unbalanced load in it and started banging loudly during the fast spin cycle. Before I could get there it broke. It will fill with water, but will not spin or drain and the timer will not advance while the dial is in the spin cycle. When it tries to drain there is a noise and a hot almost burning smell, but no draining occurs. Should I fix it or is it too expensive to justify that?
