Should I fire my personal injury lawyer?

I was involved in an accident I feel my attorney is more consider about settle the case and didn't prepare me properly for the case. Sorry if this is a little bit long but I wanted to give as much information. I just feel the attorney is more about settling and closing the case.

For example: He told me my deposition was just going to discuss about how the accident happened. He didn't tell me that I would have to talk about my injuries and how it effect me. This being my first deposition and probably my last I didn't know anything about how these things work, which is why people hire lawyers. So he had me meet him at the office of where the deposition was being held. When we got their 20-30 minutes before the deposition he than told me. I was already nervous about the deposition to beginning with. My brain was now scrambling to think about this 20 minutes before. I should have told me about this months prior when he told me about the deposition instead of 20 minutes before. I would have enough time to sit back and think about how the injuries affected me.

Another thing is that on the list of instructions he told me that I should only answer the questions opposed by the other attorney and not questions he or she is trying to ask. Basically answer only the question and stop talking. If he or she (opposing attorney) wants more they will ask for it. I followed these instructions during my deposition. An argument (legal strategy) against the other side defense came into play and he (my lawyer) told me that he couldn't use the legal argument against their defense because it wasn't in my deposition. It wasn't in there because the defense attorney never asked because he( my attorney) told me only to answer the question I was "asked" and not volunteer any answers.

So far he sent at least 2-3 letters to the defense and the insurance company about settling the case. I feel that he is looking real desperate in the eyes of the defense which is always good for the case I don't think. I feel 1 is enough, if they want to settle they will let us know.

Another thing is that he didn't collect a narrative report from the nerve doctor who examined and did test on me for my nerve damage. I thought that this would have been helpful due to the fact that a narrative report would be more descriptive in what troubles I can face in life and aprroximately a time line of how long I will experience this from his(the doctor) experience.
