I live in Huntsville, AL. After spending a few hours at my friends' apartment, my brother and I went to leave around 2:30 in the morning. Once we got to the car, I immediately realized that someone had gone through it. The only things we have found to be missing are my debit card, my brothers iPod, and a backpack that could have contained a number of things. I called and filed a police report, and had my card reported stolen. The police said an investigator would contact me within the next couple days.
Should I expect them to attempt to find my lost items? I have a charge on my card (which was declined, because I didn't have enough money for the purchase) which they can very easily find out where the thief tried to use it.
I would just like to know what to expect from the police.
