should i drive my dads v8 or get my own honda?

im 20 go to school n get about 400-600 a paycheck i put money into my dads pontiac lemans with a v8 engine,the thing is i want my own car a 90-91 honda crx, i know it would need money but which is a smarter decision when it comes to the gas and insurence?Any advice is appreciated also the pontiac runs perfectly unlike the car i would buy
 
Honda CRX gets close to 40mpg while the crappy GM gets 20mpg.... come on now.
 
I;d say Honda you/d get better gas. insurance would msot liekyl be cheaper ca use a smaller engine.
 
Id buy your own car...feels good to have your own car. Would be cheaper overall with gas too>>>
