should i discuss it with my very new boss?

sorry for weak english

yesterday i gave interview at two different companies but both have the same business (equity sale) and job title was also same (sales man).

n the first company my interview was good and there is 80% chance that i will get the job. the interviewr says, the interviews are inporcess after comleting the process we will inform u f u have been selected.

in the second compnay they told me to join the force from tomorrow (today). they only asked me an oral commitment to work for the 6 whole months.

my prb is that "if i discuss it with the comanpy that has selected me that if i get job at other compnay at the end of this week i will join them, if i not get the job then i will make my commitment to use your compnay washroom for 6whole months. IF the first company does not select me , what kind of image will print on the mind of my very very new bosss about me? (like they didn't selecte him so why should we?)

I wouldn't.

They should very well expect that you're interviewing for other positions at this point. If you get the better job, then they should be willing to let you go to it. An oral commitment, while binding if you stipulate it in court, is very rarely enforceable. And, at any rate, asking you for an oral commitment for 6 months sounds unfair in the extreme, unless they have directly promised you that you will be employed and drawing salary for that period. I'd be tempted to ask them to put that request into writing, myself.

Additionally, though, you need to be clear about what kind of relationship you're entering into. Many sales positions are independent-contractor relationships. (Which, ironically, doesn't necessarily mean you have an employment contract.) If you're regarded as an employee, and the state is an at-will employment state, then you can walk off the job with no further commitment to them.

If you start your relationship with the second company by letting them know you're still seeking / have active interviews, and never land them, it might cause unnecessary problems. Further, there are many interviewers who will give you the impression that you have a high chance at landing a job when no such hope actually exists in the mind of the interviewer. Also, you won't face any less problems in leaving the second company if you tell them and then you do leave.

If company #1 comes across with a better offer, that's the time to tell your new place (6 month commitment or not,) and then see if they'll match the offer. UNLESS you've signed anything that states that you will not directly compete with company 2 for a period of time - then you're forced into disclosure, if not a commitment to company 2.

While honesty is often the best track, there are times to hold your cards close to your vest.

Were I in your position, and if I could afford it in any way, I might ask if I could possibly have one more week before starting to tie up some loose ends at home. The worst they could do is tell you, "absolutely not!" And that's not worse than telling them you're still waiting on a better position's interview.

Then you can give them a little more time to come through on an offer from #1 before you begin your new work, or let it go. In fact, you might want to call company #1 and let them know you have a firm offer, and when might you expect word back from them if you have their position or not?

first of all, learn to use spellchecker. I think it would look much better on you if you knew how to spell. I think you should take the job starting tomorrow, and if something else comes up, give the boss you are working for at the time one week's notice. Tell the other place they will have to wait since they did not hire you directly.
 
so there is company A that there is an 80% chance of being hired. and company B thats a guarantee and you have to sign an agreement that you will stay atleast 6 months.? i would say depending on salary, go with the guarantee and dont say anything... and congrats on getting a new job in a slow economy...
 
You are able to leave a job at any stage. So if you get the other job just go to your other boss, I'm sorry but this is just not for me, and leave. They have it happen all the time don't worry.
