...months for summer camp? My long term girlfriend( she's 29 and I'm 34) who I've been living with for 2 1/2 years works at a summer camp. She didn't do it the first year we were together, but the last two summers she has gone. Every year it's heart breaking to loose her. When she is gone there is very little communication, or it's very poor communication. She just drops off the face of the earth.
I don't think she will ever change in this. I reluctantly raised concerns about her leaving this year. She's never had a long term relationship with someone at home while working at the camp before. It basically forces us into a long distance relationship every year, not because we have to be separated but because she wants to be gone. Also, it puts a hardship on us financially because she leaves me with all the bills.
Bottom line is that even she believes that it is a difficult situation. The problem I have is that she doesn't have a problem with leaving me. Should I marry someone who will continue to put strain on our relationship or risk damaging our relationship?
Should we continue dating with me keeping the concept that marriage is not a consideration until she's ready to start settling down.
