Should I compete or have fun?

I live my life mostly in a businesslike manner. I have literally an internship or volunteer job every single day of the week. But at the same time, I do have friends, and I am in love with my boyfriend. I don't have much free time, but I like it that way, and I like being praised and told that I'm working hard and doing a good job.

At the same time, I am starting to feel a bit tired, and I'm in my junior year of high school.

My question is this: next weekend, there's the Junior Escape, my high school dance. It will be at a club and everyone will be going. I've never had a thing for dancing, but there's only one junior escape. But at the same time, there's a speech competition. I've been winning a lot of awards in speech and debate, and really love performing and competing. It wouldn't be a chore for me to go -- I'd just have to skip the dance.

Which should I attend?
My friends want me to go to the dance, but I feel like I should go to the competition. I need to win awards to get into a good college because my GPA is not excellent.
