Should I carry on training to be a Chartered Accountant?

I am currently training to be a Chartered Account, i also work at one of my local hospitals in the accounts department for the NHS. The problem is, i really do not enjoy it, what i have to study, the job, the whole career. The only reason i went into this career is because there is nothing else i really wanted to do, so i went into accounts because it pays well and i can't sit around forever waiting until something comes on along that i would enjoy.

There is a few careers that do interest me, midwifery and primary school teaching, the teaching being i have 5 primary teachers in my family and i have been in with my mum and do enjoy it. My problem is they are not paid particularly well, and i could not settle for a job that did not pay above average if i enjoyed it. Also, im not being big headed but i do have a good brain on me, and i think if i did not go and do a high degree and get myself a profession i would one day regret it and wish i had pushed myself as far as i could.

The accounting career though, from what experience i have of it and the education to it i really do not enjoy, but it does pay well and i do want to be on a high salary. Please help and give me your opinion as it really does stress me out and get me down quite alot of the time.

Thankyou :)
