Should I call it "Obama Syndrome"?

I do not understand why people are rejoicing and going crazy about OBama. He is beig treated as if he is the "New Messiah" or a "National Hero."

What exactly has he done so far other than giving wonderful speeches ? What has his accomplishment been in the past ? The fact is, it is He who became the president, but the fate of the ordinary folks, who voted him to power, would still remain the same. So I do not understand why people are spending so much of their valuable time, energy and hard earned money over Obama ?

I feel that this is now getting little too far. What has he achieved that warrants so much attention on him? He has not done anything to date that deserves him this much attention or glorification.

I am neither a republican nor a democrat although I have always leaned towards the democratic candidates in the past.

If Martin Luthar King was here and he ran for president, it would had made a lot of sense and I would have had understood peoples' adulation for him but this whole thing surrounding Obama is absolute non sense. This is so pathetic to say the least...
 
I'd call it a Tony Blair syndrome and therefore, although I wish the guy well, I don't think we should expect too much of him.
 
I think it should be called "The Obama Mania" because it is plain ridiculous. This junior Senator was barely known to us a few years ago and now he is President. The honeymoon will not last. That is for sure. The man can't answer a question straight. Although I applaud that he is not talking to the media as much and probably won't as much, he has a lot of work to do. He has to stay away from the media because they tore Bush apart and they can tear Obama apart. The media is liberal, but when Obama does not do something liberal, he will be condemned for it. The media and the Democrats in congress will scream when he does not do something right. The Republicans may actually help him at times during his presidency. He needs to separate himself with associations such as Rev. Jeremiah Wright. His associations will destroy him. He won't pull out of Iraq right away and that will anger liberals.

The people will not think of him as a Messiah for long as true change will not come. His speeches will not come true because the ideas seem erroneous. Remember, congress dictates what is passed and not passed and Obama can't do nothing about it when a bill that he wants is not passed. This is a three parts of government system. A checks and balances system.

The glorification of him is sickening. I almost think that some people see him as a God. Its a ludicrous idea, but I am sure it seems plausible. Some people are absolutely strange. I have never seen a person get such a free ride into the presidency. I feel bad for McCain because I think he knew he would lose because people wanted to vote for Obama because it seemed only right. People who didn't vote for him were sometimes labeled a racist. its insane, but true. I have heard of people say that everyone who didn't vote for Obama is a racist. That is just not true. But, my point is that he is not a national hero or a great person until he does something that is truly heroic and amazing. I am sorry, but becoming the first African-American president is not heroic, it is historic. I just hope he does a good job because I would be sad if this country ended up in the wrong direction.

The country has a lot of problems and they need to be fixed and I hope that this glorification process will end in a few days. There is much to do. I have a test and paper due tomorrow (which I'm almost done with) and Obama has a great test ahead of him, one that will determine his administration. He has been studying for it some, but if not a lot, he will fail. If you don't know the material then you are screwed. I feel as though Obama knows some of the material, but is confused on some of it. I believe he will pass, but by how much. Only time will tell.
 
The people are desperate for a leader. One who will represent them for a change. One who will put the country ahead of the corruption and bribery which rules our country at present.

He will be our President and will deserve our support and respect unless and until he shows us that he is just another democrat/republican crook. Let's give him a chance.
 
For a junior senator with no real political accomplishments he is over hyped and praised by people for what? He is the first black President and that stands for something, But if that is all he is then it will not be a fun transition from celebrity to President. I have a feeling their will be allot of disillusioned Obama supporters over the next few years. I hope I'm wrong but don't think I am.
 
It has went way too far. The funniest part is how people are comparing Obama to Abe Lincoln. If these reporters on TV would do their homework they would find out that Lincoln was a REPUBLICAN-Obama of course is a Democrat.
There is nothing in common in between the two, nothing at all.
 
Much of the rejoicing is because George W. Bush and his cronies are finally leaving office. Bush is being replaced by a man of greater intelligence and emotional maturity. Finally there's hope that we can start cleaning up the colossal mess left by the Bush administration. And remember inaugurations are always big deals, no matter who the incoming president is.
 
I suggest you don't watch tv for a few days because it is gonna be chaotic. If you feel that way, take long naps and don't even go on the computer. He has to start at the beginning like,other presidents did.
 
Obama is nothing to close to MLK.

If MLK saw how Sharpton and Jackson representative themselves as so called leaders of the black community he would be disappointed.
