A neighbor of mine has had a truck sitting outside for about a year and a half now. I finally inquired about it because it's a solid-looking truck and what I'm looking for. It's a 1990 Chevrolet Cheyenne 2500. The only thing is, it has about 496,000 miles on it. However, the engine was rebuilt in 2000, as well as the transmission in 2005. New joints on the front and new pads.

He started driving it this past week since I was interested and it hasn't been driven in a while and I test drove it myself. It feels solid. The 350 sounds smooth with no ticks and no leaks (I've been snooping outside at night under it). The brakes don't squeal and the ride is pretty comfy for a 3/4 ton pickup. The inside needs a little minor work and the only thing that's really obviously messed up is the oil pressure gauge.

Should I buy this truck for $1800? Solid as hell, less than a decade old engine, been sitting for a year and half and has about 496,000 on the entire truck itself.

It's wore out, so if you buy it now that up front and if it blows up you know you only shot 1500 bucks.
