I currently ride a 72' American Eagle road bike w/ friction shifters and i am looking to upgrade to something that will be a little more efficient during my commute. I bike 14 miles round trip to work or school depending on the day, 5 times a week. So i have been racking up the miles the past 2 weeks. The LBS has a Specialized Sequoia 2009 for 650 and it is a good deal. My question is if i need a aluminum frame with carbon fork? The weight is not an issue because i need something durable. i am 6'0 230. Is the aluminum and carbon mix going to be a better, more comfortable ride then a steel frame? Any suggestions would be nice.
