Should I buy this 1995 Buick Skylark I saw at a nursing home?

They are asking $1200 for it. It has 53000 miles on it and is in fair/good condition. its 4 door. Is this worth buying? How long do you think it could last. Is it worth it since gas is going up?

Only a mechanic could possibly answer your questions.

Btw, gas is going DOWN. Experts have been predicting 50 cent drop by June. I've already seen a few gas stations with under $4.

If the miles are correct, it could be a good buy. Especially if its a v-6. 4 cyl are not as good and wont last as long.

Have a mechanic check it out. And make sure the tires are not dry rotted. I drove a car with dry rotted tires and had a blow out at 70 MPH. Totalled the car.
I Should have spent for new tires.

It could last 5-10 years easily if your mechanic says its a good car and you take car of it.

That doesn't mean it wont need occasional things like a battery or alternator, brakes or coolant flush.

With any car you buy you really should have a mechanic check it out first. With that being said any time you buy a car that old with that low of miles as soon as you start driving it and putting miles on it, it will start to need repairs. Most likely a lot of repairs. So the money you save by buying it will go into repairing it. As for how long it will last? It could/should last you a lot of years as long as you keep up on the maintenance. (oil changes and such)
