I have a 16 year old son that is going to need a car soon. There is a 1994 Honda Accord EX for sale - asking $1,500 for it. Pretty good shape, but needs some work. 141,000 miles on it.
I have driven the car and everything seems fine motor-wise, however it needs new front rotors, thermostat, and other odds and ends. Because these brake rotors are 'pressed on', it's something that I would have an auto shop do. (quoted me $480).
When it's all said and done, the repair cost to get this car in great shape would be about $750.00. (I'm doing the repairs myself, except for the rotors).
Should I buy the car for $1,500 knowing I have to sink $750 into repairs???
