should i buy the latest graphics card for my PC or buy PS3/XBOX 360 for gaming?

i am having second thoughts as of the moment if i will buy a 8800GTS for my pc or just buy a ps3 or a 360 for gaming. i love gaming and game graphics looks good on the pc and the consoles. the consoles have more interesting games but RTS games are best on pc. what should i do? in case i buy an 8800 gts for my pc.. would the games look great and run smoothly on these specs:
Memory: 2 GB DDR2
HDD: 160 GB
Processor: intel core 2 duo e4500 @ 2.2 GHz
OS: windows vista home basic 32-bit
Monitor: 19-inch lcd monitor

i need your advice guys... please help me... thanks in advance... =)
 
tbh a PC just cant compete with a console game and Vista isnt recommended for gaming going by the comments iv read about. You will always have to upgrade to a newer graphics card if you want optimum performance.

If you really only want to use it for gaming buy an Xbox it wont use up as much electricity either saving you a small fortune in bills.

in response to the post above me any 32bit OS will only recongise 3.5gig of ram
