should I buy extanded warranty for new PS3 ?

I bought it yesterday and it should be here on Monday Dec 6. Should I buy extended warranty ? ( sony - usually very good at quality made products , I thought I can skip and safe some $$)..I'm regestred user at sone site , but bought ps3 at amazon ( was better deal for me )..Anybody have some dramatic expirience on this subject ? friendly me
 
how much is the extended warranty and for how long? What is the warranty covering? like accident coverage or just parts....?
