I live in a small town with close neighboring cities. I currently drive a minivan with very poor gas mileage. I'd like an alternate form of transportation that requires either no gas or has great gas mileage.
My average commute is 10 miles round trip. I rarely travel more than a 10 mile radius from my house. Everything I need is very close by. On days that I would need to travel greater distances or when it's raining, I will use the van.
What do you suggest? My price range is around $300 for the (new) bike or $2500-3000 for the (used) scooter.
