Should I buy a used Mazda 3 (2.3T) MPS or a used Subaru Impreza (2.5T) WRX Sportwagon?

Ok, I know the (05-08) hawk-eye Subaru's are 200cc more and are full 4wheel / All-Wheel-Drive. However, i like the more subtle looks and fresher look and rarity of the 06-09 Mazda 3 MPS. On power figures (which are not everything) the Mazda is more powerful. Which would you buy with a £6000 to £9000 budget? Or what would you consider and please don't say GTI Golf (too common for me).
