Should I buy a Dodge Ram Van?

Right now I'm currently thinking of buying a van and taking it on a long road trip with friends after high school graduation. I also want to put a bed in it so that I don't have to sleep in a motel at night. And after my roadtrip I can use it to haul around equipment because I'm starting a band soon so I could use a van for touring. The model I like is the Dodge Ram Van. The older models are pretty cheap, but I'm sure they will need some extra engine work. Is this a good model to buy or is there an even better one out there for me? Suggestions would be nice, as I don't know much on this subject.

I have had several Dodge Vans. All were very reliable and gave me very little trouble. I put over 250,000 miles on the last one before I sold it and it is still running and taking it's new family on vacations. The older vans with the 360 engine were most reliable and most gas-hungry.
If you get a 318, put 360 heads on it. If it is a carburated engine, put a 4bbl carb on it. The only major problem I ever had was with the steering box when it was stressed with oversize tires.

well my family has a dodge ram van and I think it is totally awesome. great for road trips and very roomy. also if you get one like the one we have i don't know the year the back seat folds down into a bed.
