Hey is it better to wait until 09 to buy this car if so when will the dealer drop his price. I have seen a car i want to buy on 24th dec but should i wait or someone might snap it up b4 me.

The question is when must the car dealer drop his price in 2009

Do your homework first and decide how much your willing to pay,£4 for a parkers used car price guide will help. Once youve checked the car ,had a test drive etc, and your happy with it. Tell the dealer i am willing to pay you £? for the car. If he/she dosent meet your price tell them politely its above your budget and dawdle off, they will call you back. Dont be embarrassed dealers expect this. remember its a buyers market at the present, especially this time off year. p.s they always tell you someone else has been enquiring about the car to rush you into it. good luck

In simple terms, NEVER worry about a used car being 'snapped up' - there are millions for sale, you can always go elsewhere.
You're going to play an inflated price by buying from a dealer anyway, so if you like the car, research the correct price (use http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/prices and look at similar cars for sale on http://www.autotrader.co.uk to see what others are selling for) and stick to your guns: If the dealer won't accept the price you're willing to pay, walk away & go elsewhere. Be a devil & buy at auction - you'll save a lot & still end up with the same car. If it scares you, get the car checked by a mechanic at the auction premises before bidding. Good luck.

You shouldn't pay over £5,000 for an 05 reg 3 door with 30,000 miles, and factory fitted options may make the car more desirable, but won't add to it's value.
