Should I buy a 2004 Ducati Monster 620 (15,000 km), or a brand new 2009

Kawasaki ER-650C (ER-6nL)? Same price.? I can't decide if I should go for the older but better brand (Ducati) with better resale value, or to go for a brand new Japanese motorcycle? Ducati has about 15,000 to 20,000 km on it. I don't know what I have to consider. Considering that both bikes have no mechanical faults, which should I go for?
