Should I buy a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with 132,000 miles?

I am in the market for a used car and I am considering buying a 1999 Jeep Cherokee with 132,000 miles on it for $2650. I recently moved to an area that gets quite a bit of snow, so the fact that it has 4wd would be great. It also has a black leather interior and I just love the look of it. I am just looking for something to drive a few miles to school everyday. The downside is that it has high mileage (I am not sure for how many miles Jeeps generally run) and my father is completely against Jeep Cherokees in general. I would hate for something to go wrong with it very soon and then it would be an 'I told you so' moment (I know that this is risk that I take when buying any car). Anyway, are there any mechanics, car people, or Jeep owners out there who can recommend whether I should buy this car. I would appreciate any feedback.
