I'm fully covered healthwise by my travel insurance, but I've heard that Japanese hospitals don't take outside payments, and so I'd have to pay entirely in cash and be out of pocket until I get reimbursed by my insurance. So I thought to go on the Japanese National insurance as well, then when I pay the 30% gap I get reimbursed for that from my own insurance if it's a large sum.
But is it actually worth it to be insured twice? Do you think I should just stick with my own insurance with the potential to become out of pocket for a while?
