Should I bother calling NCO Financial back?

I was scammed for a lot of money recently with the whole fake check scam thing where they sent a check, I sent money, and the check bounced so I'm stuck with the debt. My account has been frozen because of how much I owe my bank now, but I'm still within that time period where I can pay it back easily and without involving anyone else. Either way, the people who scammed me sent me a bunch of emails telling me they hadn't gotten the money and would take legal action unless I got it to them immediately. They stopped when I threatened them with legal action of my own, but then the next day I get a call from NCO Financial Inc, which I've heard a lot of bad things about. The message doesn't tell me what my debt is and only explains that all information I give them will only be used to pay the debt and that I'm apparently in debt to some random guy I've never heard of or met in my life. Should I even bother calling? Is there an easier way to get them to stop calling me? So far I've gotten about 4 messages in 3 days.
