should i be allowed to re-build the farmhouse?

hi, im in the process of buying a plot of land which for the past few years has been used for chickens. it used to have a farmhouse on it, but it fell down a long time ago, the land is presently owned by my aged uncle and he has pictures of the old farmhouse "pre collapse" and i thought it would be a great place for me to move to.. are there any time limits that make residential into agricultural???
