Should I ask a girl out under these circumstances?

I will be leaving my job soon and a girl just started there, as most new people are, she is quite reserved and gets on with my job (unlike other staff who are more social). So basically I can't really use "chat up techniques" to get to know her.
I will be leaving in the new week or 2 (soon as job offer comes through) and I was wondering, if I should ask this girl out. Simply as it'll be easy to be rejects as I'll only work 1 or 2 more shifts with her and won't be awkward if I did it otherwise, as we'd work together.

But then again, would you date someone you've only know and *worked* with, and because they're leaving have the guts to ask you out?
 
Have you talked to her before? How well does she know you?

I would be quick about it and talk with her, because you are running out of time here. Just keep a conversation going then ask her if she wants to meet up sometime.
