I started the FASFA application, but my mom was pretty upset when I told her (mostly due to the personal info needed). Anyways, my mom thinks I shouldn't bother with financial aid because (1) My tuition for any CA state school is covered due to my Dad's service in the military, and (2) both my parents work and have good jobs (I am very thankful we haven't been hit hard in this recession). However, I argued back saying there is still the costs of housing, classes, books, etc. But my mom still says not to apply for financial aid because her and my dad can take care of it. Should I just listen to her and abandon the application, or still finish applying?
